Lori Donnelly, M.A., CCC-SLP & Karen Kern, M.A., CCC-SLP
Lori and Karen met at Montclair State University, where they both earned a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1998. Since that time they have gained extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication challenges in children aged 2 and up.
Lori and Karen believe that a positive therapeutic environment is the key to genuine success and they value the connections they make with the children on their caseloads. They engage kids in fun and stimulating activities and adapt their therapeutic approaches to suit each child's unique characteristics and challenges.
Lori and Karen work hard not only to establish meaningful and supportive relationships with each of the children they treat, but also with the important adults in their lives. They routinely collaborate with family members and caregivers, providing guidance and strategies for home-based support.
Lori and Karen have a commitment to continuous learning. They regularly attend workshops and seek opportunities for professional development in order to keep their practical skills current and continually add to their clinical toolboxes.
Lori and Karen are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the State of New Jersey. Lori also maintains certification by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist. Karen specializes in treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). She is trained in DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing) and PROMPT (PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets).
